Invest in your future

If you are eager to gain valuable experience in a ministry-oriented office environment and contribute to the vision of SSI, then an internship may be a perfect fit for you.

One of the best investments you can make for your future is an internship. Here at SSI, the skills you will pick up in this professional setting will prepare you for the workforce you will enter. You will learn how to represent your organization and communicate with others appropriately, respectfully, and helpfully while interacting with a wide range of people inside and outside the office. This will teach you to have an answer ready, and, in the (frequent) case that you don’t know the answer, you will develop the ability to either find one or find someone who does.

This opportunity will teach you valuable computer skills. You will become quite familiar with navigating our database software, something that will stand out on your resume and will give you useful experience and professional edge over your peers. Other computer skills include becoming thoroughly adept with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Besides that, you will develop effective time management strategies. Some projects will take several days to finish, others need only twenty minutes. Learning how to balance the variances in workloads is essential, and at a place like SSI, the atmosphere and amount of work changes frequently. You will begin to adjust and adhere to the demands of each season in which the organization functions.

Finally, you will also discover what it means to work towards a purpose. The many different parts of SSI are united by a common goal: to empower teens to reach their fullest God-given potential and to change their world for good.

Because SSI works with students from a variety of educational backgrounds, we can be flexible regarding the length of your internship and how many hours per week you can come in. High schoolers, college students, and ministry-minded adults are welcome to apply. If you are interested, please fill out the application below or call our office with any questions: 517-321-6233.
