Not your typical summer camp.

LEAD inspires teens to find their ultimate identity in Christ and their highest calling as His ambassador. Throughout this week-long summer camp, students build key life skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, and communication through realistic, exciting, and hands-on leadership simulations. Teens leave equipped to go out as courageous Christians in a corrupt culture and empowered through relationships built with leadership-minded peers and mentors.

Announcing LEAD Online:

A Special Message from SSI President, James Muffett,

Dear Friends of SSI,

Due to the ongoing situation with the virus and Governor Whitmer’s Executive Orders, our partners at Cleary University have closed their campus for the summer. This means that we are unable to hold the LEAD Summer Program as planned.

However, we are excited to announce LEAD Online, a new hybrid program that will take place through an online, interactive platform. Our new LEAD Online pilot program will be held during the currently scheduled LEAD weeks. Our goal is to preserve the essence of the LEAD experience in this new format as we continue to engage students through dynamic biblical worldview instruction and practical leadership training.

We are all disappointed that we are unable to physically host our students this year, but we are excited for this new opportunity that God has provided. Please join with us as we continue the ministry of SSI.

James Muffett,

President

Please note, during the statewide shelter in place order, the SSI Office is continuing to operate with staff members working remotely. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. You can call us at (517) 321-5233 or email office@ssionline.org for prompt assistance.

What is LEAD?

LEAD is a life-transforming week featuring authentic leadership simulations in the legislative, media, judicial, campaign, and business fields under the direction of Christian professionals. During this real-world experience, high school students learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, strategic planning, and effective communication. While engaged in high-level leadership roles, they are also inspired to apply Biblical and moral principles in their own life and the world around them.

Who can attend?

LEAD is open to teens entering 9th grade through those who have just completed 12th grade. Because many of our advanced tracks were not available for LEAD 2020, all 2020 seniors are eligible to attend LEAD 2021. First and second-time students participate in our exciting hands-on House and Senate legislative tracks, and students returning for a third time or more can choose from our Business, Mock Trial, Moot Court, Campaign, and Media tracks. Find out what track you are eligible for here. Students from all over the United States have attended LEAD, as well as teens from Canada, Mexico, England, and Israel.

When, Where, How Much?

LEAD 2021 will be held on the campus of Spring Arbor University near Jackson, MI the following weeks:

WEEK 1: June 20-25

WEEK 2: July 11-16

WEEK 3: July 25-30

The early registration cost is only $430 when you register and pay in full by March 15, 2021! After March 15, the full price of $460 applies. Tuition covers track materials, room, and board for 5 days! Group discounts and financial aid are available.
